The World Trade business centre is strategically situated in the heart of the city's commercial and residential Olaya district. Its prestigious King Fahd Road address makes it a neighbour of the many business headquarters that can be found in a city that has become the business and financial centre for the whole Middle East region. As this Saudi Arabia's capital, it is also close to various government offices and the foreign embassies of the Diplomatic Quarter. Efforts are being made to diversify the economy, but it is still petroleum-based with the oil industry comprising about 45 per cent of Saudi Arabia's gross domestic product. The World Trade Centre is just a 30-minute drive from King Khalid International Airport, which has a major impact on the commercial movement in Riyadh. The business centre is easily accessible from the motorway network and its facilities include underground parking.
